Providing information and support for head and neck cancer patients, their carers,
relatives and friends.
Incidentally, the photographs on this page don't feature models, they are all Heads2gether members, after their treatment.
When cancer enters your life, nothing will ever be the same again. Issues that used to seem so important, now seem trivial. Survival becomes the focus of your life. Fortunately, with advances in cancer treatment and the excellence of medical teams, the likelihood of being cured is improving all the time.
Learning to cope ...... Sometimes following surgery, special attention is needed to help learn new ways of eating and speaking. Some of our members have already had that re-training and will be able to share their experiences with you.
Supporting your loved ones.....Naturally, friends and family are affected too. We have members who have already supported a loved one through the cancer journey and can tell you how they coped whilst still showing strength and encouragement.
Join our group...... Finally, when you feel up to it, you are very welcome to join us at one of our regular get-togethers and be ready to offer support to others who are just beginning their journey.
Your medical team will explain the procedures to be performed and the possible after-effects but Heads2gether members can tell you what it feels like and how they coped. Trained supporters can respond to your questions and give you realistic expectations. They can tell you how they got through the difficult periods and give information and advice from a patients perspective.
